Poetry by Bekah Steimel, Fall 2012

The sleeping awake

but love

it's too late

to be undone

even with

such fingers

as these

finely tuned

to unravel

those

scarred-over seams

but such

fingers

such a thumb

still

I can't be undone

or unwrapped

or untied

chain link fence

built inside

with a grave

and a bed

chain link fence

in my head
