Head Negro in Charge, And Other Titles for That Obama Painting
Surely by now you’ve come across this painting (above) titled “The Forgotten Man,” which depicts President Obama trampling on the U.S. Constitution. The artist, John McNaughton, recently revealed his political agenda (no big surprise here, people) in an interview with Salon.com’s Matthew Wolfe. On politics and Obama, McNaughton states: “Obama standing on the Constitution represents his taking action against what the Constitution stands for, which, to my mind, is limited government.”
There’s a lot going wrong here.
A lot.
But, since you, dear reader, are rather intelligent, I’m sure me telling you all about the racial innuendo and factual inaccuracies in this painting which even a toddler could assess upon approaching this painting with little to no a priori knowledge of politics would be a waste of time. So instead, I shall whittle away your time concerning a less obvious problem: the title.
The title, in a word, stinks. Maybe that’s too harsh, but, certainly, it needs improvement. “The Forgotten Man.” I mean, don’t you find that title rather staid and conservative – er, I mean, traditional?
To the painter, I offer these titular alternatives:
1. The Oppressed White Man
2. A Gathering of Imperfect Men
3. Obvi He's A Commie!!!
4. In Defense of Wearing White Stockings (and Wigs)
5. How Communism and Black People Ruined America
6. Head Negro in Charge
7. The Black Man’s Burden
8. Obama and His Magical Powers that Can Warp Time and History!
9. If You Are Blond in America, Watch Out!
10. See Old (No Really, I Mean OLD) People Scoff
11. If Obama Tramples the Constitution, This Artist Tramples His Aesthetic Philosophy
Dear reader, feel free to share your own alternatives in the comments section.
As always,
Truth to Power
